children & family ministry

Mission: To help children into a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to partner with and equip parents on how to pass the faith on to their children.

  • "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frame of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:5-9

SING N' SPROUT

Sing N' Sprout is a Christian Preschool Music Ministry for caregivers and their children birth-5 years old (before Kindergarten). The 8 week curriculum is upbeat and fun for all ages. This session will focus on creation, basic music theory and movement. The cost is $30 for one session. Registration is limited to the first 15 families. Families will be notified if they are waitlisted.

When you register, just register yourself (the parent/caregiver) and don’t add your children’s names until further in the registration when asked. There will be questions on your children’s names and ages. This will allow for 15 families to register. In the memo line please put SING N SPROUT. Snacks will be provided for both the child and caregiver and will be peanut free. If your child has a different allergy please provide their snack. A CD is provided for each family.

Safety

We review all safety procedures with each teacher and volunteer so they are prepared should an emergency arise. We also use a dedicated check-in system and tracking system, so we ask parents to sign their children both in and out of our childcare program.

Special Needs

We hope each child feels included and knows how precious they are to God’s kingdom. That’s why we have a special buddy system for those children who want to participate during Sunday school, but might need a little more assistance or guidance to help them feel successful. We want to understand your child, so we encourage the parents who have any concerns to express them to the leaders involved so we can set up your child for success. We also have a Sensory Room which is for all age ranges that can help address a wide variety of student needs. Please contact Valerie Bartel for more information.

Volunteers

All volunteers who work with children are required to have a Kid-safe form or background check completed prior to working with children. We also have volunteer training at the beginning of each school year to review all existing policies.

First Communion

This is a special time for second-graders (and older) to learn more about the true meaning of communion. We find this is an opportunity for them to not only grow in their faith and spiritual development, but it helps build an even deeper connection with the parents as they take part in the classes with their children. The First Communion course consists of three classes during the Lent season.
