Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt. 28:18-20

Our Congregation

Redeemer Lutheran Church serves in association with the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC)  and is a vibrant body of believers located in Damascus, MD. Our beliefs and teaching are based on the Holy Scriptures and centered on Jesus Christ our Lord, Savior, and King. Our mission is very simple: make disciples who make disciples. That means our primary goal is to help people from all backgrounds discover the purpose-filled joy that comes from knowing and serving Jesus Christ.

The baseball diamond serves as an illustration of the life of a Disciple of Christ, the four points representing the various stages of discipleship: Healing, Growing, Serving, Going.  Becoming a mature, fruit-bearing Christian is an ongoing process, as it is the mark of the true disciple.  Jesus designed His Church as the environment that facilitates our individual growth. Therefore, at Redeemer, we provide four distinct environments that will allow an individual to mature and be nourished, or as Paul says in Ephesians, “attain(ing) to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” 

Redeemer functions as:

• a Hospital (Healing),
• a Greenhouse (Growing),
• a Training Center (Serving), and finally, as a
• Commissioning Center (Going) that sends Christ’s developing disciples into the mission field of every-day life.

Welcome

We invite you to stop by for a visit this weekend. You'll be welcomed with a smile and open arms and are free to participate or just sit back and observe. You’ll discover a warm atmosphere, practical teaching from God's Word, and lots of friendly, authentic people pursuing God together. And with childcare and classes for all ages, your family will love it too!

God made a promise that if we seek Him, we will find Him. You are a valued part of God’s creation and His deep desire is to be in a relationship with you. So come and join us as we pursue God together!

Family

Our gatherings are for the whole family, as we believe the gathering of the Church should be a place for people of all ages. Every Sunday we provide children's ministries (0-6yrs) alongside our regular services, which offer an age-appropriate environment for kids to encounter Christ. Or, children are also welcome to remain with their parents.

(NOTE: Currently the nursery is available during worship on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month)

Leadership

Redeemer Lutheran Church is guided by the staff, Council, and leadership teams who provide overall direction and watch over the spiritual and practical needs of the church. Our pastors provide sound, practical, biblical teaching at each worship service. They have received theological and pastoral training and are well equipped to equip God's Church. Redeemer Lutheran Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will for our community, region, and wherever God sends us among the nations.
